          D-1:  Ask people passing by, how to reach to your destination

In English  : Excuse me, can you tell me where the subway station is?

In Japanese : 「すみません、メトロの駅はどこですか？」

(Pronunciation in Japanese) : Sumi ma sen, metro no eki ha doko desuka? 

*doko = where 

In English  : Excuse me, can you tell me where the JR station is ?

In Japanese : 「すみません、JRの駅はどこですか？」

(Pronunciation in Japanese) :

Sumi ma sen, JR no eki ha doko desuka? 

In English  : Excuse me, can you tell me where a toilet is ?

In Japanese : 「すみません、トイレはどこですか？」

(Pronunciation in Japanese) :Sumi ma sen, toilet ha doko desuka? 

*In Japan, other than public toilet, most of the convenience stores offer toilet for public use.

          D-2:  Ask at the shops about how much is the price of something.

In English  : Excuse me, how much is this ?

In Japanese : 「すみません、これはいくらですか？」

(Pronunciation in Japanese) :Sumi ma sen, kore ha ikura desuka?
